Helical piers are named after the helical plates welded to the side of the shaft. These plates help to drive the pier into the soil and anchor it once the weight of the foundation is transferred to the helical pier. The pier can have additional sections added in order to reach the necessary depth.
Not only can helical piers be installed year-round, but they are also installed quickly and effectively. They can do everything from stabilize light structures like decks and concrete stairs to lift settled foundations back to their original position.
Made of steel, push piers feature an external sleeve that strengthens the pier just below the bracket. There is minimal disturbance during installation as the piers are installed next to footings and attached with a rugged steel bracket. To finish the installation, soil is backfilled around the piers. Push piers are a great permanent solution for areas where soil condition is unknown and can reach a greater depth than any other pier. They are often the best opportunity to lift the home back to its original position.
As the name suggests, these piers are specifically designed to stabilize or raise slabs that have settled. They connect the slab to stable soil or bedrock and use helical blades to anchor the pier. Grout fills the void underneath the slab and concrete fills in the holes used for installation. Slab piers require minimal excavation to install and are completely hidden after the installation holes are filled.
Helical Deck Piers
Poured concrete piers for structures like decks, sunrooms, and porches are not easily corrected, less durable than helical deck piers, and has limited installation options. Helical deck piers can be installed year-round with minimally invasive methods. Their steel support brackets are stronger and more durable than concrete and can be easily corrected. The deck or other supported structure can be built immediately after installation.

“From the very beginning of the transaction, Dave, the owner was honest, upfront and professional in his interactions with me. I am more than pleased with the work but more importantly, his values instilled in me a sense of confidence in small business owners who still believe in doing what is right for customers and providing outstanding customer service. I HIGHLY recommend Mission Home Services!”
“Dave was super responsive and went above and beyond in getting my basement project completed. He kept in regular contact with me on updates to the project, expected delivery of materials, and on permitting status. Very reliable and did a terrific job on my basement retaining wall.”
“First of all, I don’t usually do reviews; however, I was so impressed with the guys at Mission Home Services that I felt the need to let others know. We had them out to inspect our basement and give us an estimate on waterproofing it for future renovations. The representatives gave us a great education on not only how a basement leaks, but also how ours was leaking and the correct method to fix it. We highly recommend this company!”
